This Privacy Policy explains how A2Z Prototyping ("A2Z," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our products, including PinotPlanner, our wine-country trip-planning app (the "App").

Information we collect

To create and secure your account, we collect your phone number. If you use the App with others, we also collect the trip, itinerary, and expense information you and your group choose to enter. We do not collect a password — sign-in works by a text message code or a passkey saved on your device.

How we use text messages

We use your phone number for exactly one purpose: sending a one-time verification code by SMS when you first register, or when you sign in from a new device and you have no passkey on that device. We do not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages by text. Message and data rates may apply.

We do not sell or share your information

We do not sell or share your mobile phone number, or any other personal information collected in connection with our messaging program, with third parties or lead generators, for their own marketing purposes. Your phone number is used only to operate and secure your account as described above.

How we use other information

Trip, itinerary, and expense data you and your group enter is used only to provide the App's features to your trip's members, and is never visible to a trip you're not a member of. The one exception is a recommendation you choose to make public: anyone planning a trip can see it, with your display name. We may use anonymized, aggregate usage data (for example, how many trips are created) to understand and improve the product.

Your location

PinotPlanner asks for your location only if you choose to use it. You can share your location with your trip in two ways. You can turn on location sharing for a trip, which sends your position every few minutes while a trip day is in progress. Or you can tap "Send my location now" to send it once. Sharing stops on its own on days with nothing planned and when the trip ends. We do not collect your location in the background at any other time.

Your shared location is visible only to members of that trip. A member who can only view certain days sees it on those days only. We never show it to anyone outside the trip, and we do not share it with venues, partners, or advertisers.

We keep only your most recent position for each trip, not a history of where you have been. Turning sharing off for a trip erases that position right away, and leaving the trip removes it completely. You can also turn off location access for PinotPlanner at any time in your phone's settings.

What we share with venues

If you make a recommendation public, we may include it, with your display name, in reports we send to that venue. If you later make it private, a copy the venue already has stays with them.

We also share activity counts with businesses — for example, how many trips added their venue. These counts never include names or trip details.

Booking links and cookies

When you tap a booking link in the App — for example, to Booking.com, Vrbo, or a similar partner — that partner may place a small tracking file (a "cookie") in your browser. This tells them the booking came from PinotPlanner, so we can earn a referral fee. It costs you nothing extra.

These partners work with a company called CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) to track this. CJ's own privacy policy is at cj.com/legal/privacy-policy-services.

You can block or clear these cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so won't stop you from booking — it only means we won't get credit for that booking.

How long we keep information

We retain account and trip information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the App's features. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time — see Contact below.

Your choices

Sign-in verification codes are required to sign in and cannot be opted out of, since they are how we confirm it's really you. We do not offer any optional or promotional text messaging at this time.
